Happy Holidays

I’ve been wanting to post this DIY project for the longest time! Last fall my husband decided our bathroom needed some work so he tiled the floor, changed the paint color of the walls, and added some new bathroom accessories. Needless to say, everything turned out beautifully, but the mirror door to the medicine cabinet didn’t make it during construction. Really, I think he secretly damaged it so we would have another project (which was totally fine with me). I think he loves DIY projects even more than I do!
We’re very drawn to all things vintage and wooden, so I had this great idea to reuse a wood pallet we had leftover from I don’t even remember what! This is such an inexpensive way to add charm and warmth to your bathroom. You can chose any wood stain color you like, we went with a weathered gray color for that vintage feel. Our medicine cabinet measures 25 1/4 in by 15 1/2 in inside so we made the door 26 in by 17 1/2 inches. Most medicine cabinets are a standard size, but if yours is different, cut accordingly so the door is slightly larger than the inside storage area. Everything you need can be found at Home Depot. I’ve added some links to make it easier.

For this juice recipe I used 4 ingredients that I pretty much always have on hand. Before I started juicing I never bought kale, but now I’m proud to say that it’s a staple in my house. This juice is definitely on the sour side so if you prefer sweeter drinks I would add some oranges to the mix or even cut the lemon in half. I like to juice my fruits and veggies with the peel intact so I almost always buy organic, unless they don’t have any in stock.
I was very close to making this into a cocktail this evening, hence the moody photography. Maybe next time…

I’ve never been much of a writer. I’m such an emotional and talkative person but when it comes to writing my thoughts down they just don’t come out the same as when I talk. I really want to make an effort to write more so that Emma has these posts to look back on when she’s older.
Within seconds after giving birth to Emma I became a different person. I know all women go through a transformation, I feel like mine rocked me to the core! Before becoming a mom I always felt somewhat lost in life. I’ve been fortunate to have an amazing childhood filled with love, lots of world travels, and lovely people, but even so, something always felt like it was missing. I’m a person that absolutely one hundred percent needs love in my life. I love love and can’t function without it! As soon as I met my husband I began to feel more whole and then when we had Emma it was the aha moment. Everything that I’d been working towards in life started to come together. I started to really understand myself and truly feel comfortable in my own skin. Life became brighter after we had Emma and so much positive energy and goodness started pouring into our lives. I have a zest for life and my goals and passions like never before. I am more motivated and see the light at the end of the tunnel shining brighter than ever! I finally know that one of my main purposes in life was to become a mother. I am so thankful that I’ve been given the gift of motherhood and each and every day all I want to do is live my life to make this little girl proud of me, to give her the life and opportunities that my parents gave me, and to show her you can have the life you’ve always dreamed of.
Both my husband and I absolutely love being outdoors and we both dream of having a home one day with some acreage where we can grow whatever fruits and vegetables our little hearts desire. We are both at peace every time we visit Tanaka Farms or any farm for that matter. It’s a simple joy but the best kind of joy there is. If you’re in this area I definitely recommend visiting. They have the cutest farmer’s market and lots of activities for kids. Overall just a great place to visit when you need to get away from the craziness of day to day life.
For the last year I’ve been obsessed with buying vintage clothing. I love the fit, the fact that I am shopping consciously, and that I have unique pieces that I can pass down to Emma. I feel like there is a story to tell with every vintage piece I buy, even if it is just a simple top or belt. This particular dress I purchased from Poppycock Vintage on Etsy and when I saw it I just knew it would be the perfect 4th of July dress. I paired it with a belt that I actually got from another Etsy store that I absolutely love called Soleil Collective. Both of these shops have such amazing finds and the sweetest shop owners. It is such a pleasure and so special to shop at small businesses, you see how much love and passion goes into what they do.
This particular evening we went to Fossil Creek Reservoir which is right by our house. Emma and I got to play dress up and my husband captured some sweet moments that I hope she will cherish forever.

These adorable gift bags are perfect for party favors! I made these for my sister’s vintage inspired bridal shower and we used them as favor bags at the dessert table and candy bar she had set up for her guests. Every little detail makes a difference at parties, but the more detail the higher the cost! If you’re a fan of budget friendly and cost effective projects this is for you! I purchased everything for this project at Michaels.
